Ovidio Guzmán, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, was transferred by air from the facilities of the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico to the Federal Center for Social Readaptation Number 1 “The Altiplano”, popularly known as “Almoloya”.
The aircraft took off from the facilities of the Specialized Prosecutor for Organized Crime (FEMDO) and landed in Almoloya de Juárez, in the state of Mexico.
“Almoloya” is located in the community of Santa Juana and has been the home of some of the most famous criminals in the history of Mexicosuch as Héctor Palma, Rafael Caro Quintero and Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, Ovidio’s father.
Since the afternoon, at the access, military personnel, elements of the National Guard and the Secretary of Security (SS) of the State of Mexico reinforced the vicinity of the prison.
On social networks, the first image of Ovidio Guzmán López was released after being arrested by the Mexican authorities this Thursday morning.
The son of drug trafficker Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán appeared in the photograph wearing an orange reflective vest and guarded by security elements.
The snapshot was captured meters away, while “El Ratón” was uploaded to a helicopter of the Mexican Air Force, presumably within the facilities of the Specialized Prosecutor for Organized Crime and heading to “El Altiplano”.
It would be the first image of the capo since his first arrest in 2019, when he was released on government instructions, when he became a prime target of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
