After the riot that took place in the prison in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, and which left 17 people dead and 30 prisoners on the run, the authorities continue with the investigations into this unfortunate event.

Part of the work includes the search for all the inmates who managed to escape, including Ernesto Alfredo Pinon De la Cruz, alias “El Neto”leader of the criminal group Los Mexicles.

In this regard, the authorities announced that the security cameras installed in the vicinity of the prison, They caught one of the escaped inmates trying to cross the border into the United States.

“After the sighting, the authorities of El Paso, Texas were informed, to whom the respective information was shared and a joint operation was immediately implemented to search for them on both sides of the border,” the Chihuahua government detailed.

Members of the state security cabinet explained that These images are “the first trace of the inmates who escaped on January 1.”and it is expected that more suspects will be detected shortly to find their locations.

Until now, the identity of the prisoner who was captured by state cameras is unknown, so it is not known if he is “El Neto”.

The local government added that after the escape of the inmates, at least 289 state police officers, 97 units, 7 reinforced tactical vehicles with aerial surveillance by a helicopter, as well as two drones with thermal and infrared cameras, have been deployed.
