The National Guard announced that while carrying out a security tour of the southern area of ​​the State of Mexico, in the municipality of Coatepec Harinas, it had a confrontation with a group of hitmen belonging to the drug cartel known as La Familia Michoacana.

According to testimonies from some residents of the area, the events took place at dawn when law enforcement officers were patrolling.

Apparently, at a checkpoint the crew members of a Jeep Grand Cherokee were called to a halt, who immediately began to detonate large-caliber weapons and from then on a shootout broke out. between the streets of May 1 and June 5, specifically on the cruise to Cochisquila.

Given the seriousness of the event, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico deployed an operation in the area, where elements of the Secretary of State Security and the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) undertook the task of searching and detaining to more members of La Familia Michoacana.

In this way, another subject who was riding a motorcycle was captured and who, considering him suspicious, was sent to the Ixtapan de la Sal Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.

At the end, three alleged hitmen of the Michoacana Family were killed; while three others, including a minor, ended up being detained by the authorities.
