Zinedine Zidane has long been dreamed of coming to the bench of the France team. However, new information places the Frenchman as one of the candidates who meets the requirements to take the reins of the Brazilian team.

After the resignation of DT Tite after the failure of the ‘Canarinha’ in Qatar 2022, the Brazilian Confederation is in search of a new strategist and the media L’Equipe positions Zidane. According to the French tabloid, Zizou meets all the requirements demanded in Brazil to hire the new coach. Foreigner, free agent and with a great record.

However, the media pointed out that Zidane’s decision is subject to what happens with Didier Deschamps. From the French Federation they clarified that the current coach could continue in office.

L’Equipe reported that the former Real Madrid strategist would not be the only one on the agenda and mentioned names like Marcelo Gallardo, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto Martínez or Rafa Benítez.

Zidane’s only experience on the bench was three spells with Real Madrid. A very short one at Castilla and two in the first team, with whom he won two league titles and three Champions League titles in a row, among other trophies.

One of those who also sounded was the current DT of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti. Although the Italian made it clear that he has a valid contract until 2024.

“At the moment, I’m great in Madrid, we have many goals this season. There will be time to think about my future. I have a contract until June 30, 2024 and, if Madrid don’t kick me out before then, I’m not going to move”, Ancelotti explained in an interview on ‘Radio Anch’io Sport’.

Goodbye to Brazil

In the press conference after the game with the Balkans, Tite announced that he would leave the team because he was unable to meet his goals.

“It is a painful defeat, but I am at peace with myself. As I said, my cycle ends. I said it over a year and a half ago and I’m not a man of two words. I wasn’t playing to win and then make a drama to stay, anyone who knows me knows that,” he said.

Tite was appointed coach of Brazil in 2016 and was in charge for 81 games, of which he won 60, drew 15 and lost only six times. At the offensive level, his team scored 174 times and conceded 30 goals.
