Toyota Prius 2023: this is how it responds to test drive

Ronald Ortega

Finally, the design of the Toyota Prius has changed for the 2023 model year. This great vehicle from the Asian brand demanded a radical change on an aesthetic level, which was expected by many. Now it has a sleek and aggressive look.

Also, the technological section has been considerably updated to quickly enter the conversation of hybrid cars that could appear as the first choice of many consumers in the automotive market.

Its appearance could be instantly related to the design of the Tesla Model 3, one of the most iconic electric vehicles on the market, and to some extent it does resemble it. Details in its lines, lower roof, and door handles hidden in the pillar make the Toyota Prius have aesthetic similarities with the compact sedan of the American company of electrified cars.

Internally, it stands out with a new infotainment system and controls that convey a pleasant and sporty sensation, and even a bit futuristic thanks to the steering wheel panel in charge of communicating essential elements of the car.

The mechanical aspect also does its thing after increasing its performance, since many users complained about previous models that were short of power. The vehicle now comes with a 2.0-liter V4 power unit that generates 194 horsepower to dramatically differentiate the driving experience compared to the previous version of the Toyota Prius.

Driving test

The Toyota Prius handled in a very pleasant way, either on straight, curved or elevated roads, something that did not happen with previous versions that only served to move from point A to point B.

Also, gas mileage can go up to 57 miles per gallon despite having a more powerful engine. Without a doubt, Toyota has surprised with this fifth-generation update to take an important step towards the electrification of the brand, where manufacturers in the sector point towards carbon neutrality in favor of the fight against climate change.
