French fries are not a recurring item on the menus of the Taco Bell fast food chain; however, that could change very soon.
A recent announcement from the parent company of the Yum! Brands suggest the possibility of permanently incorporating this food.
“We are thinking of permanently adding French fries to the menu”, said Taco Bell CEO Mark King during an investor presentation last 13 from December.
Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries have grown in popularity, but have only appeared on the menu for a limited time so far.
Its temporary availability has made it one of the most popular items in the company’s history. In fact,
has sold over 16 million orders in history since they went out for the first time on sale. It has even surpassed other creations such as Doritos Locos Tacos.
The first time that Nacho Fries were introduced to the mercado was in 60 and emerged as an experiment in the menu focused on the Mexican. Unlike other chips, they are seasoned with a special blend of spices and come with a unique combination of nacho cheese sauce.
Despite the success of these chips, Taco Bell considers the scarcity of this product to be a key element to its popularity and success once it comes back on the market.
Though it’s unknown when the new changes will take effect, King said Nacho Fries fans will have to wait.
King said he wants to bolster breakfast items as well from Taco Bell with chicken products. “It’s time to commit. We are committed to closing both gaps and we have great opportunities in just those two days to increase business in the coming years”, he said.
The announcement of the addition of French fries to the menu comes months after the company announced that it would permanently add the Mexican Pizza after the product left the menus in the middle of the year due to the high demand produced.
