Henry Cavill made use of his Instagram to inform that he will no longer play the character of Superman in a new movie of Warner Bros., as director James Gunn is currently working on the film’s script, but it would not star the British actor.

In His extensive and emotional message Cavill reflected his sadness at the decision of the heads of DC Studios, but wished the best to the team of the new production: “I just left a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran, and I have sad news. After all this, I will not return as Superman. Although the studios told me that I could announce the character’s return in October, before they were hired, This news has not been the easiest, but that’s life. The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them, and everyone associated with the new universe, the best of luck and the happiest of fortunes.”

Just two months ago, Henry broke the news that he would once again play the role of “the man of steel”. , and that for this reason he had given up working on a new season of the Netflix series “The witcher” , being replaced by Liam Hemsworth. And although it is rumored that in the next tape of DC he could have a different character than the one he gave world fame, thanked fans for their support: “For those who have stood by me through the years, we may cry a little…but then we must remember…Superman is still here. Everything he fights for still exists, and the examples he gives us are still there! My turn to wear the cape has passed, but everything Superman stands for lives on. It has been a very fun journey with all of you, both forward and upward.”
