A dozen migrants are rescued by the Coast Guard off the coast of Orange County

A dozen migrants were rescued on Tuesday night by the United States Coast Guard off the coast of Orange County.

According to the Huntington Beach Fire Department , which is collaborating in this case with the Coast Guard, the group of migrants was located off the north coast of Sunset Beach.

On the boat, the authorities found 12 occupants: seven men and five women. It was reported that, of the migrants, 07 were Mexican citizens and one was of Colombian origin.

The medical services had to provide care to seven of the boat’s occupants because they had minor injuries , while two others had to be transferred to a hospital. The other migrants did not have any injuries, as reported by the Coast Guard.

It was reported that it was Ricardo Roura a Huntington Beach lifeguard who first observed Tuesday night the boat carrying the dozen migrants when it was about 200 miles from the coast

When the Coast Guard rescued the group of migrants, were immediately taken to the Orange County Harbor Patrol office .

Up to now it is unknown where the boat came from and what the immigration procedure will be carried out by the authorities with the group of migrants.
