Recently, it was one year since the physical departure of the renowned Mexican singer and actor, Vicente Fernández.

The “Chente” or “El Charro de Huentitán”, as he was known, died from multiple organ failure.

“It was a multi-organ condition, a condition of multi-organ failure where his hematological system, his cardiovascular system, his renal system and his pulmonary system they went into a collapse, ”confirmed at the time Julio Ramos, the doctor who treated Fernández.

But Vicente Fernández left his mark and a musical legacy which will be very difficult to match. He made history generation after generation, not only in Mexico, but also outside his native country.

He obtained innumerable recognitions, among which are n two Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammys, won 14 Lo Nuestro Awards and also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

For the year 2010 achieved the round and difficult figure of 80 million copies sold worldwide.

His son , Alejandro Fernández , followed in his footsteps and is making his way to also be considered a legend of Mexican and world music.

Some controversies

But like almost every famous character, with such a level of popularity, the controversies surrounding to him they were the order of the day.

First of all, the unauthorized series of Televisa “The Last King”. This since it would reveal the “darkest secrets” of the celebrities who appeared in that audiovisual material .

The audience and the Fernández family considered this material as abetrayal of memory of the Mexican musician.

According to this series, it was based on the book “The Last King” , by the Argentine journalist Olga Wornat.

The text was quite criticized, even before his death, since critical issues were touched on such as the kidnapping of Vicente Jr, some infidelities he did to Doña Cuquita Abarca and something more controversial such as the apparent strategies to have more of the inheritance left by his father.

“Honestly, we haven’t watched television for a long time and now we’re not interested in watching it. My father’s house is Tres Potrillos , for many years, more than 40 years. My father’s house is the heart and affection of all his public and my father’s house was always one and every one of the media, the reporters, the cameramen,” said Vicente Jr.
