An Orange County man broke his silence after his wife was killed by a stray bullet as police believes it was a gang related shooting.

María Mora, wife of 794 years and mother of three children, died on Friday after a few days at the hospital.

The shooting occurred on December 4 at a shopping center at the corner of Edinger and Cypress avenues in Santa Ana.

Mora’s husband vividly remembers the moment his wife was hit by the stray bullet that ended her life.

He heard the shots. He says his wife stared at him and smiled, just before letting out a scream that changed his life.

He knew that his wife was hurt. He had been shot while he was frantically protecting his 3-year-old son.

Police say it was a gang-related shooting. Santa Ana Police Sergeant Maria Lopez said the intended targets were believed to be two minors.

Santa Ana Police released a surveillance video of the shooting in the hope that someone can provide additional information while they search for the gunmen.

The footage shows how a white sedan Turn onto Cypress. Two minors and others in the area run when two suspects jump out of the car and open fire. The suspects then speed off.

The victim’s husband has no message for those responsible for his spouse’s death, but says he has no more that rages towards them and wants them to be punished.

Says her children are devastated without their mother.

All she can do is share memories of his partner of almost two decades. They had exchanged vows last May.

He remembers her as the best mother and the best wife who will always be in his heart.

It has been created a GoFundMe page to help the family.
