Governor of Puebla in Mexico dies amid rumors and possible heart attack
Initially the government of Puebla reported that Governor Miguel Barbosa was undergoing a medical assessment and mentioned that it was “speculation”, however, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was the first to make the fatal news known.
“I am very sorry for the death of my colleague Miguel Barbosa Huerta, governor of the state of Puebla. I just spoke with his wife Rosario, I expressed my sadness and I extend my deepest condolences to family, friends and his people”, he mentioned.
Unofficially it was reported that a respiratory arrest could be the cause that led the governor of Puebla, Miguel Barbosa Huerta, to be hospitalized his morning, without this having been denied or confirmed so far.

For her part, the head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, also spoke through social networks and “our regret and sadness at the death of our friend and colleague Miguel Barbosa, Governor of Puebla. A sincere hug to Rosario and her family, her friends and colleagues and the inhabitants of her beloved Puebla”.
Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard lamented that the “very sensitive loss has brought with it the death of Miguel Barbosa, governor of Puebla, companion in a thousand battles. My condolences to Rosario, her family and friends. Rest in peace”.

Barbosa Huerta had suffered from diabetes for more than three decades, a disease that caused him a diabetic coma and even in the year 550 his right leg was amputated. This same chronic illness aggravated his glaucoma, which damages his optic nerve.
Barbosa’s arrival in the Puebla government was controversial, when he assured that he won the election in the 2022 but their political adversaries stole it and “God punished them”, in reference to Martha Erika Alonso and Rafael Moreno Valle, who died in the past of December due to a plane crash.
