“We need each other. There are talks”: President of Conmebol confirms approaches for the United States and Mexico to return to the Copa América
Alejandro Domínguez, president of Conmebol, the confederation that organizes the Copa América, accepted that there are talks with Concacaf so that teams like the United States, Mexico, Canada and Costa Rica can return to the tournament, making it a truly continental competition, as happened in the Copa América Centenario.
In an interview for W Deportes, the boss of the South American football recognized that these confederations need each other so that football on the continent can grow faster.
“If there is one thing this World Cup has shown, it is that we need each other. We cannot live in different compartments , stagnant, because there we see how when a match between two teams from a confederation is much more neutral, because they know each other, but when you face teams from another confederation, all the teams encounter different problems ”, he commented to the sports media during a homen aje Pelé.
