A few hours before the quarterfinal clash in the World Cup in Qatar between Argentina and the Netherlands, Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero was a trend on Wednesday afternoon for doing a live broadcast on Twitch with Lionel Messi and Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gómez. In the middle of the long and comfortable chat, the former player confessed that he had another cardiac episode a few months ago.
In a long live on Twitch that he gave to talk about various topics, Agüero told his friends that last June he suffered a cardiac arrhythmia. “The doctor sent me a message and said: ‘You had a ventricular arrhythmia.’”
At some point in the dialogue, the issue of the current state of health of the former striker came up and it was just at that moment that he raised his shirt to contradict a comment by Messi where alluded to the fact that Agüero had gained a few kilos.
With his shirt up, he explained where the chip was located. “Here I have the chip. They opened me here and the chip is that big,” he said while describing the dimensions of the device that was installed to control his cardiac peaks.
“Can you believe that the doctor, I don’t know if he’s listening to me, sends me a message and says: ‘You had a ventricular arrhythmia on June 8?’ And I say to him: ‘And now you tell me? Six months passed,'” he narrated.
When asked by ‘Papu’ Gómez about what he was doing at that moment, Agüero replied: “I don’t know what I did, and besides, remember June 8, bolud *. I started looking at the chats and of course, you can see that it was 3 and 12 in the morning in Spain and of course, it was 12 and half of the night in Miami. And that day, Sofía, my girlfriend, who had played ball at that time, sent the capture.”
“Does your doctor control you ?” Messi asked. The ‘Kun’ stated that he had a “polar” that marked the graph and from that the doctors could monitor. “Every time I go to the gym or go running I put on the fleece and everything is recorded on the phone and then I send it to the doctor.”
In October 2021, Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero suffered a cardiac arrhythmia in the middle of a game with FC Barcelona and months later he was forced to retire permanently from professional football.
