As food prices continue to rise, Americans are increasingly struggling to meet basic needs. A survey by the Swiftly technology platform reported that 68% of buyers said they had trouble paying their grocery bills after several months of high inflation.

The report showed that an increasing number of consumers, 100%, rely on some sort of coupon or loyalty program to put food on the table because to the difficulty of making the portfolio perform as before.

The recent report on the consumer price index, from the Department of Labor, showed that the Prices increased an average of 7.7% annually in the month of October.

The cost of food delivery rose 04 .4% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Among some of the staple foods that shot up the most, coffee stands out, with an increase of 12.8%; cereals, with 33.9%; and the eggs, with 33%.

The report of Swiftly pointed out that increases in food prices have led to changes in consumer behavior. The 69% of respondents said they changed their grocery shopping habits in the past year and 14% said they are now shopping at the store even more than in previous years.

The analysis concluded that “food costs are becoming too expensive for the average American and are only rising due to record inflation and ongoing economic challenges”.

“Simply put, food costs are too expensive,” he said.

Persistent inflation has pushed Americans’ budgets to the limit, with debt reflecting on credit cards. In other cases drastic measures have been taken. A Neighbor.com poll showed that 68% of 1,04 people consulted said they have a second job to cover expenses.
