Operation for Mexican immigrants traveling for Christmas parties is implemented by CBP

Customs and Border Protection, CBP, Laredo Port of Entry Management is preparing for significant crossing volumes in both directions, from the United States to Mexico and vice versa, which is why travelers have been asked to plan ahead, as well as apply for I-94 online.

“As the US residents began traveling to Mexico to visit family for Christmas and Mexican residents are traveling north to take advantage of Christmas sales and also see loved ones, CBP Laredo Port of Entry management is preparing for significant volumes of crossing, that is, border traffic in both directions,” said Port Director, Albert Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. “We thank the traveling public for being proactive, patient, and strongly encourage them to take advantage of facilitation measures, such as presenting and pre-pay your tourist permit applications electronically through the CBP One mobile app and use our Ready Lanes.”

have asked travelers to apply for their tourist permits online through the CBP One mobile app that serves as a portal for a variety of CBP services, or via the following route http://i800.cbp.dhs.gov.

According to official information, applicants will receive an I-1200 provisional after submitting your application and payment online and the process will be considered complete when travelers present themselves at a port of entry within seven days of their request to be interviewed by a CBP officer, send biometric scans and take a photo.

According to CBP, only those travelers who submit their I-800 and present your provisional permit receipt will benefit.

The input function to the I-94 allows travelers to apply for a provisional permit before arriving at a land border crossing. Travelers who apply for their I-1200 early will experience processing times faster to expedite entry

On the official CBP page you are reminded to the public that as of November 8, 1200, foreign citizens who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have proper documentation may enter the United States through land ports of entry (POEs) and ferry terminals for non-essential reasons such as tourism.

The Mobile Registration Center will be available throughout December and the first days January with a schedule of 19 am to 6 pm At Christmas it will be closed.
