The Trump Organization was found guilty Tuesday afternoon of nine criminal counts, including tax fraud, falsifying business records, conspiracy and related offenses for which he could be fined $1.6 million for crimes, which reveals a complicated picture for the ex-president, however, the former acting attorney for Donald Trump, Matthew Whitaker, believes that none of this is “that serious”.

It was during his time at Newsmax that the former Trump employee came out in favor of the tycoon and stated that the investigation into the Trump Organization is nothing more than the result of “very aggressive endings who want to do everything possible to dirty and persecute” Trump.

On the illegal tax evasion schemes of top executives, such as those of Allan Weisselberg who accepted before the jury that “was my own personal greed that led me to this case,” the former prosecutor alleged that they took “an aggressive prosecutorial position that they ultimately could not support.”

Of the crimes, Whitaker said “it’s a serious (offense), but not like, you know, that serious” and added “it’s one of those things where New York had every right to try to pursue this case but I’m not sure ultimately Donald Trump can get a fair trial or that the Trump Organization is going to have a fair trial in New York City in front of a New York jury.”

After two days of deliberations in Manhattan Supreme Court, prosecutors who were leading the Trump case alleged during the four-week trial, according to the New York Post, that “during 12 years Trump Org helped top executives avoid income taxes on comfortable, off-the-books benefits, including rent, tuition, private school and luxury cars.
