For the third consecutive time, the Swiss National Team advanced to the round of 16 in the Soccer World Cup and will be quoted in a tough game against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in a game in which his coach Murat Yakin warned that anything could happen. The Swiss scored six points, the same as Brazil but were relegated to second place on goal difference.

The Swiss did not clash in a game against a complicated Serbian National Team that ended with a score of 3-2 . The team led by Murat Yakin even had the opportunity to go first in the group if they had scored one more goal, this due to the defeat of Brazil against Cameroon, however they ended up in second place and showing signs of being a seasoned team that plays football well.

Switzerland’s goals against Serbia

The legendary Xherdan Shakiri, current Chicago Fire player, overtook the Swiss by minute 12 and celebrated by ordering to silence the Serbs who did not stop whistling from the stands.Aleksandar Mitrović tied the actions for the Serbs who were not willing to die for nothing and that, on the contrary, they would battle until the end.

Dušan Vlahović to the minute 55 put the Serbs on top in a game that would end up being a seesaw; as proof of this to the minute 20 the one born in Cameroon, Breel Donald Embolo placed the second in Switzerland which meant the tie and the second in his personal account in the Qatar World Cup 2022. While Remo Freuler al 20 scored the winning goal for the Swiss in a packed game tension from beginning to end.

The controversy of Xherdan Shakiri

Xherdan Shakiri was once again the center of controversy when celebrating with the index finger in his mouth to silence a Serbian crowd that did not stop booing him throughout the game . However, the whistles for the Chicago Fire soccer player were music to his ears as he scored a goal and played a great game.

Although on this occasion he did not celebrate by making the gesture of the Albanian eagle as he did in the last World Cup where both teams also coincided. The former Bayern Munich, Inter, Liverpool, Stoke City and Lyon player stole the flashes in a match loaded with goals and with political demands in the air .
