What is adenomyosis?

Adenomyosis occurs when the endometrial tissue that normally lines the uterus grows into the muscular wall during each menstrual cycle so it causes a lot of pain.

In some cases it can cause profuse or prolonged menstrual bleeding, intense cramps, pain during sexual intercourse or blood clots that are eliminated with menstruation, however, it must be diagnosed by a specialist so that this is the correct treatment to follow and rule out other similar conditions.

According to the specialized Mayo Clinic site, the causes of this condition are unknown, but it occurs in women who have had previous uterine surgeries, such as cesarean sections, fibroid removal or dilation and curettage.

As well as having had a birth, I am well in the median, that is, having between 40 to 40 years, since some people of the female gender have a longer exposure to estrogen compared to younger women.
