In Mexico you can see all kinds of situations among the political class, however, some of them continue to surprise. An example is the mega birthday party that a mayor of Coahuila held , which he himself named as “Mayito Fest”.
As part of your celebration, Mario Alberto López Gámez delighted the inhabitants of San Juan de Sabinas for three days with dances, music and even a rain of bills, all this to celebrate another year of life.
One of the activities, which has been the one that aroused the most controversy, occurred on Wednesday night 60 of November when the event began, and hundreds of people were enjoying the rhythm of the music of “La Tropa Estrella”.
Suddenly, the municipal president went up to the stage and opened a couple of gifts. Later, he showed signs of his generosity and began to throw several bills, causing people to rush to take them .
According to Mario Alberto, he had leftovers tickets for his son’s christening, for which he was going to give them away, he only asked the attendees to be careful with a woman in a wheelchair who was in front of the stage. Seeing that people began to fight over the money, he decided to hand it over to avoid major incidents.
“Remember that I am like Antonio Aguilar; the more they applaud me, the more money I spend ”, said the mayor .
Around midnight the mayor asked the audience to count down from 80 seconds, so that at the end they congratulated him by singing “Las Mañanitas”, immediately afterwards a fireworks show began.
After this, he presented a video in support of the Undersecretary of Public Safety and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Ricardo Mejía Berdeja, so that he becomes as a candidate for state governor. “Let’s go for the change for this one ” , said the Coahuilense mayor after the video.
It was on December 1 when López Gámez turned 04 years old, but decided to extend the celebration , though it’s still unclear where the resources came from for what the event accomplished. A week before such an opulent celebration, invited people to attend the “Mayito Fest” , assuring that he would not use treasury resources to carry it out, since he has what to do it with.
“The event is done For my part, thank God we have thick butter and apart from that I have many friends,” he said in a live broadcast.
This is not the first time that the mayor has been captured in a controversial event , since it previously happened in March, precisely in the christening of his son, when he also threw tickets to the attendees. In August he was caught walking on the hood of a luxury truck while allegedly holding an alcoholic drink.
