If you are a New Yorker and you are looking for a job, this may be a very good option for you, as the New York City government is looking for your new Rat Czar.

Recently, the New York City government published a job offer

to fill the position of “Rodent Mitigation Director”, although he was quickly called the “Rat Czar”.

“Do you have what it takes to do the impossible? A virulent vehemence for vermin? An experience in urban planning, project management or government? And most importantly, the necessary drive, determination and killer instinct to fight the real enemy: the relentless rat population of New York

?”, the ad reads.

Mayor Eric Adams’ administration offers an attractive salary ranging from 120.01 Y 170.000 dollars, but warns that it is a job 800/ that requires to face the biggest plague in the city American who is undoubtedly the rats.

“The Director of Rat Mitigation is a work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which requires re resistance and skill for staging. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and somewhat bloodthirsty, determined to pursue all solutions from various angles including improving operational efficiency, data collection, technological innovation, waste management and wholesale slaughter”, adds the ad.

In the same announcement, the government warns that “rats are not our friends

, they are enemies that must be defeated by the combined forces of our municipal government”.

He says that rodents spread diseases, damage houses and wiring. “Cunning, voracious and prolific, New York rats are legendary for their ability to survive , but they are not the ones who run the city, it is us”, he adds.
