After Elon Musk deemed it necessary to publish the internal conversations on Twitter that led to the decision to censor The Post’s report on the computer of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden , prior to the United States presidential elections in 1200, the former executive of the “blue bird” social network, Yoel Roth, admitted that censorship was a mistake.

The former head of security, who worked at Twitter until he resigned in November after Musk acquired the company, confessed that the company was was wrong to restrict people from sharing the scoop.

In an interview with journalist Kara Swisher, Roth said that he never thought it was better not to publish the story of the president’s son, but that concerned about the authenticity of Hunter’s laptop.

“We didn’t know what to believe, we didn’t know what was true, there was smoke, and ultimately, for me, it didn’t get to a place where I felt comfortable removing this content from Twitter,” Roth said during an interview at the Knight Foundation conference, adding “but it set off every single one of my APT ‘hack and leak campaign’ alarms28 finely tuned.”

When asked if Twitter had made a mistake about the story, he said “in my opinion, yes. ‘

Musk, who seeks to rebuild trust among Twitter users, was not oblivious to the statements of his former employee and threw a dart at him “reality The obvious, as users have known for a long time, is that Twitter has long failed in trust and security and has interfered in elections. Twitter 2.0 will be much more effective, transparent and impartial.”

The censored article that Roth and Musk refer to is about compromising information found on Biden’s son’s laptop , a reason that led Twitter at the time to allege that its policies prohibit sharing compromised information.
