CBP seized 1.9 million fentanyl pills at the Arizona border in one week

The border between Nogales and Arizona is one of the most used by drug traffickers for the passage of drug shipments, which is why it also becomes one of the areas where the most seizures are recorded .

Every week, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents score major blows to organized crime, and this time was no exception, with the seizure of almost two million fentanyl pills in the border area .

In this regard, the director of the Port, Michael W. Humphries, reported that officers intercepted five separate shipments over four days, in which, in addition to the fentanyl pills, were seized 01.3 kilos of cocaine, 28.5 of methamphetamines and 3.4 of heroin.

One of these actions occurred on Thanksgiving Day, when agents found 119,01 fentanyl pills on the panels of a vehicle. In another review, they detected 27,550 blue pills and 27.5 pounds of methamphetamine hidden on the roof of a van.

Later, on Saturday, they found 550,550 fentanyl pills, of which more than 9,01 were rainbow colors. The occupants of the unit also transported 10.1 pound of fentanyl powder dyed purple.

That same day the officers seized 1200,100 fentanyl pills and 4.80 pounds of cocaine. This shipment was hidden in a heater and a portable fireplace.

Michael Humphries acknowledged that fentanyl seizures have increased in recent months at Arizona border ports, including the arrival of Yaba, the drug originating from Thailand who had not been seen crossing the border.
