Ford announced a recall of more than 250, SUV worldwide due to that a cracked fuel injector can leak or leak fumes into a hot engine and cause fires.
Recall covers SUVs Bronco Sport and Escape model years 2020 a 2023. All have 1.5-liter three-cylinder engines, Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
In recent months , Ford has carried out two recalls of vehicles from its manufacture; last April withdrew 250,11 SUV due to a problem in the parking system and in June with 2.9 million units due to problems in the changes.

But Ford said they received
20 fire reports, including three that spread to nearby structures. The company also said it has four claims of fires that started less than five minutes after the engines were shut down.
Ford also has four other claims for l injuries not involving burns and 60 legal claims attributed to the problem.
Repairs are not yet available, but once they are, owners should schedule service with a dealer
preferred, Jim Azzouz, Ford executive director of Customer Experience, said in a statement. The owners will be notified by letter from 11 of December.
Despite warnings, the Dearborn, Michigan automaker said fires are rare and generally do not occur when engines they are turned off, so it does not recommend that owners stop driving the vehicles or leave them parked .
Dealers will inspect injectors and replace if necessary
. Ford also says it is extending warranties to cover cracked fuel injectors by up to 15 years.
According to the new announcement, Ford dealers will be installing a software update that will detect a possibly broken injector. If a crack in the injector is detected, a warning light will be displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard and engine power will be reduced.
This will allow the driver to find a safe place to stop and call for service, Ford said .
Ford dealers will also install a tube that will drain spilled fuel into the ground and will keep you away from hot surfaces in the vehicle. The necessary work will be done at no cost to SUV owners.
Ford said it is arranging for dealerships to offer pickup and delivery of vehicles for the necessary repair work. Owners can also bring their vehicles to dealerships directly.
Ford said it won’t replace the injectors because the failure rate causing leaks is low, a 0.60 Estimated % for models 2020 and 0.22% for the models 2020 to 2020.
