After the controversy that arose due to the failed sale of tickets for the next tour of Taylor Swift, Ticketmaster will be investigated by the United States Department of Justice for abuse of power and monopolistic activities.

Two sources close to the company detailed before The New York Times that the authorities launched an investigation against the parent company of Ticketmaster, that is, Live Nation Entertainment Inc, to corroborate if they have a monopoly in the world of entertainment.

The above, after thousands of users reported having had problems when purchasing tickets for ‘The Erass Tour’, the next tour that Taylor Swift will give in the United States, causing many to run out of tickets .

In addition to investigation by the US Department of Justice, high-ranking city officials in Nevada, Tennessee and Pennsylvania have opened their own investigations into the matter.

For his part, Nevada Attorney General Josh Shapiro published a tweet inviting affected people to file their complaints against Ticketmaster. After his message, the Democrat thanked the people for their cooperation and stated that he has “many complaints” that review.

Meanwhile, Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti indicated that there are no charges against the company, but that it was his obligation to investigate the issue so that consumer rights are respected.

” At this time there are no allegations of misconduct, but as attorney general it is my job to ensure that consumer protection and antitrust laws are followed in Tennessee”, he said during a meeting with the press.

It should be noted that the company issued a statement on the situation, after Taylor Swfit made a forceful claim for the collapse in selling tickets for his tour.

“We strive to make ticket purchase as easy as possible for fans, but that hasn’t been the case for many people trying to buy Taylor Swift The Eras Tour tickets. First, we want to issue an apology to Taylor and all of her fans, especially those who had a terrible experience trying to buy tickets,” explained.
