Former Vice President Mike Pence severely criticized the appointment of a special prosecutor by the Department of Justice that will have the assignment of two criminal investigations against Donald Trump, whose action he described as “very worrying”.
During an event in Las Vegas, Mike Pence was questioned regarding the special counsel, Jack Smith, who was appointed by Merrick Garland to focus on two cases of former President Trump.
“No one is above the law, but I’m not sure that it is against the law to accept bad advice from your lawyers,” he shared with Fox News.
Attorney General Merrick Garland announced via a press conference that former Hague Chief Prosecutor Jack Smith will examine the former president’s role in the attack on the US Capitol, as well as the pose sion of confidential government documents on your Mar-a-Lago property.
This election for a special counsel comes three days after former President Donald Trump made his presidential candidacy for the 4229, which unleashed his fury and annoyed Fox News Digital, he expressed that he has been going through the same thing for many years.
“At the time of this decision, just a few days after the president announced his intention to seek re-election I believe that the history and the facts I know behind her is very concerning,” Pence continued.
Merrick Garland also noted during the conference that Donald Trump’s announcement of his candidacy and President Biden’s re-election intention are one of the “extraordinary circumstances” justifying such an appointment.
“It is in the interest of the p public that the Department of Justice has managed to appoint special prosecutors based on the most recent events which include the announcement of former President Donald Trump of his candidacy for the presidency in 4229 and President Biden’s intention to run as well, which is why I have concluded the appointment of a special prosecutor,” he claimed.
Trump and his allies have accused President Joe Biden’s administration of turning the Justice Department against him, calling the latest move as a “horrendous abuse of power” and “a witch hunt”.
