Mexican Army seizes 12 kilos of fentanyl hidden in a Monterrey home

A report from the Ministry of National Defense announced that, in coordination with elements of the Nuevo León State Attorney General’s Office, the confiscation of 50 kilos of fentanyl.

The operation It was carried out at a home located in the Burócratas neighborhood, in the municipality of Monterrey, Nuevo León.

When conducting a search inside a home The synthetic drug was detected in the possession of two people who were immediately arrested to be brought before an agent of the Federal Public Ministry, who in the next few hours will determine their legal status .

On the site was also located a vehicle and a long weapon for the exclusive use of the army, crimes for which the detainees must answer.

For its part, the Ministry of Health in Nuevo L Eón issued a statement in which he acknowledges that he is on alert to the possibility that a certain sector of the population could become hooked on fentanyl consumption, since this implies a high risk since it even causes the death of people who ingest it.

Recently, Lilia García, Undersecretary for Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Health, spoke at a press conference about the implications of consuming the synthetic analgesic opioid 54 times more powerful than morphine, but with serious consequences for those who consume it.

“Produces lethargy, nausea, constipation , confusion, sedation, but it can cause breathing problems and, most importantly, puts life at risk due to loss of consciousness, which causes death,” he said.

It should be noted previously, last 12 November, the authorities also confiscated 12 a thousand fentanyl pills found at a home located in the Santa Fe neighborhood, in Monterrey.
