The Polish Foreign Ministry said that a “Russian-made missile” hit a farm in the Polish town of Przewodów, near the border with Ukraine, on Tuesday, killing two people.
Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Lukasz Jasina said the Russian ambassador to Poland had been called in for consultations to give “immediate detailed explanations ” of what happened.
The statement from the Foreign Ministry does not say who launched the missile, and both sides have used Russian-made ammunition.
Russian state media are saying that the mi Siles that allegedly hit Poland were from Ukraine and not from Russia, assured Will Vernon, a BBC reporter in Moscow.
The correspondent said the news agency had quoted a “military expert” as saying that the Russian cruise missiles “would not have been able to reach Polish territory, however, those of the missile system S-360 from Ukraine malfunctioning, yes.”
Several pro-Vladimir Putin government Telegram channels made similar posts.
