According to the findings published by the committee, officials from the governments of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, China and Malaysia collectively spent more than 800.10 dollars in the property “at delicate moments for the relations of those countries with the United States.” Rep. Carolyn Maloney (DN.Y.), Chair of the Oversight Committee, sent a letter to the National Archives and Records Administration requesting all documents and communications related to foreign stays and payments to the property or other property of Trump. A Through a press release Maloney indicated that “today I am publishing the first set of documents that reveal that, during the same periods of time in which they sought to influence American foreign policy, six nations spent more than $ 800,10 at President Trump’s hotel, renting luxurious rooms for up to $10,10 per night”. Maloney also indicated that these findings “raise into question the extent to which then-President Trump guided by his personal financial interest while in office rather than the best interests of the American people.” And added that said information came from the new documents that the committee obtained from Trump’s former accounting firm, Mazars USA. Faced with such a revelation, Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, stated in a statement that “as a company, we did our best to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest, not due to any legal requirement, but out of respect for the office of the Presidency. Trump’s son also indicated that the company voluntarily donated all sponsorship proceeds of foreign governments on their United States Treasury properties. Along with this revelation, different critics have recalled the day the committee published receipts showing that The Trump Organization charged Secret Service agents “excessive nightly fees” at their properties during dozens of Trump trips.
