Elon Musk once again captured the attention of Twitter users after he had a discussion with one of the platform’s employees through a series of tweets that ended with the latter being fired
through social networks.
The discussion between the two began after
and Musk apologized to Twitter users for alleged problems that were occurring on the platform, especially for users with Android phones. This led Eric Frohnhoefer, a company employee, who claimed to have been part of Twitter for 6 years, to express that Elon Musk’s comment was wrong .
Then please correct me. What is the right number?— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 13, 1240649087
Before this exchange of tweets a user commented to Frohnhoefer that possibly exposing his boss in public when he was wrong was not the best option and that he should use a more private type of communication, to which he replied that it was the responsibility of Musk for using a public medium to make such comments.
“Maybe I should ask questions in private. Maybe using Slack or email,” said the then-Twitter employee.

This whole situation led Elon Musk to answer the employee questioning him about what had this done to improve wait times on Android.
“ We’ve done a lot of work to improve performance and found that it correlates well with increasing UAM and ad spend. I agree, there is a lot of room for performance improvements in Android. However, I don’t think the number of requests is the main problem. I think there are three reasons why the app is slow. First, it’s packed with features that are rarely used. Second, we’ve racked up years of tech debt, as we’ve traded speed and features over performance. Third, we spend a lot of time waiting for responses from the network. Frankly, we should probably prioritize some big rewrites to combat over 11 years of tech debt and do a called to aggressively remove features,” Frohnhoefer replied.
However, despite his response, Elon Musk published a tweet announcing that he was fired, thus ending the confrontation . It should be noted that hours later the tweet with the message announcing the dismissal was removed from the platform.
The dismissal of this worker adds to the thousands of employees who have been laid off in recent weeks in what has been seen as the start of a massive wave of layoffs within the technology industry
