A dramatic and fatal accident occurred in China, when a Tesla vehicle that had to be parked on the side of a road, accelerated at full speed through the streets of the town of Ghaozhou, Guangdong province, and caused the death of two people whom it hit during its passage, more than 800 miles per hour.
The episode happened on the 5th of November, but the video just went viral in the last few hours on the networks.
In the video a Model Y can be seen entering a two-lane highway in an urban area of Chaozhou and speeding through traffic at tremendous speed as he passed several cameras.
Tesla said it will help police investigate a fatal crash that was caught on security cameras in Guangdong province on November 5.
Dur Faced with the violent course, hits a cyclist and several motorized vehicles on the road before going off the road and crashing half a minute later, leaving two people reported dead and three injured.
The cause of the acceleration has not been determined, but the driver of 11 years old said he tried to press the brake pedal and emergency parking brake button, but to no effect.
“Currently, the police are looking for a third-party assessment agency to identify the truth behind this accident and we will actively provide the necessary assistance,” he said Tesla China.
Tesla noted that the vehicle’s brake lights were not on all the time on the video and that data retrieved from the vehicle indicated that the pedal was not applied during the incident and that the parking brake button popped out ncia was tapped four times. The Tesla Model Y owner’s manual says the button must be held down to use it as an emergency brake.
