Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino finally released this Monday the list of 30 players who will attend the World Cup in Qatar 2022 to represent Mexico in the tournament that begins in six days. As expected, the call generated controversy due to the absence of Diego Lainez and Santiago Giménez. Through the social network Twitter, the Argentine strategist was harshly criticized for this decision.
From fans to journalists such as David Faitelson or Enrique ‘El Perro’ Bermúdez criticized the action of DT for not calling young players considered promises of Aztec soccer.
“Without Lainez, without Santi Giménez and I would add that without Carlos Acevedo. Gerardo Martino, the future of the national team, doesn’t give a damn about peanuts”, wrote the channel’s communicator ESPN.
All we are “technical” and we have an opinion, but Tata Martino’s biggest problem is his INCONSISTENCY.
He asked the players to go to Europe and left out Santi Giménez and Diego Lainez.
He wanted footballers at a good time and cut Erick Sánchez or Carlos Acevedo.

Unimaginable the universe in which Gerardo Martino lives in which the “Louse ” Alvarado is a better player/more decisive than Diego Lainez.— mauricio pedroza (@mauriciopedroza) November , 2022
It should be remembered that Santi Giménez left Cruz Azul to sign for Feyenoord of the Netherlands in his desire to be able to be called up with El Tri. For his part, Diego Lainez left Real Betis in Spain due to a lack of minutes to go on loan to Sporting Braga in Portugal.
The Mexican team will debut in Qatar next 22 November against Poland. Subsequently, they will face Argentina on 22 of that month and will close the group stage against Saudi Arabia the day 30.
