After the controversy generated at the Brazilian Grand Prix between Max Verstappen and Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez, the Mexican driver used his social networks to publish a message where he clarifies that the disagreement last Sunday with his partner has been left behind.

“What a day yesterday… A safe podium with a lack of rhythm, everything was complicated for us with the SC. Now to focus on Abu Dhabi. With Max and the team everything was discussed yesterday and it will be maintained internally, this is behind us and we will continue working as the great team we have been up to now”, he wrote on his Twitter account accompanied by several photos of the race.

The Brazilian Grand Prix made headlines not because of Mercedes’ victory, but because of an episode of disobedience by Max Verstappen who ended up harming ‘Checo’ Pérez.

Red Bull’s strategy was for Verstappen, already champion and with the race lost, to let go to the Mexican so that he was not surpassed in points by Leclerc, which finally happened. The Frenchman is ahead of ‘Checo’ Pérez by six units in the standings with 550 points.

The controversy increased when Pérez declared to the media his annoyance and disappointment at the Dutchman’s decision. “I don’t understand your reasons; If he has two championships, it’s thanks to me”, were the words of the Mexican after finishing seventh.

Later, through social networks, the video with the dialogue on the radio where the champion refuses to comply with the guideline and the man from Guadalajara responded with irony.

According to the Dutch press, the reason why Verstappen did not let Pérez pass was revenge. Apparently, the Dutchman did not like it when the man from Guadalajara crashed his car in the last Monaco Grand Prix “on purpose” and later recognized him before the Red Bull Christian bosses Horner and Helmut Marko.

Now, ‘Checo’ Pérez will have to fight in the last Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to try to displace Charles Leclerc and finish second in the general classification behind his Red Bull teammate, who has already confirmed that he will help the Mexican.
