The family of a Cal State Fullerton graduate is seeking answers after they say Paul Nguyen was apparently drugged , assaulted and murdered while traveling in Medellín, Colombia.

Nguyen arrived in the capital of Antioquia on November 6 and, as he published on social networks, he was visiting Pablo Escobar’s tomb and took a tour of the commune’s escalators 11.

Paul Nguyen’s family is focused on bringing his body back to Orange County.

Amy Nguyen said that Paul was an amazing big brother, “He was someone I loved. could always admire. He was always the first person I would call if I needed anything.”

Amy said that the young man from 37 years he worked as a contractor and loved to travel.

Amy said that Paul met a girl on Tinder, a social media dating app, and had a date on Wednesday.

He said that his brother was seen for the last time leaving a bar with that girl on Thursday around 2 am, that same day, her body was found next to some garbage containers.

“They took all their things and their belongings. We know all your cards were stolen after 4 am,” Amy said. “We believe there were multiple people involved and she was just there to lure him in and set him up.”

Amy said, “He felt so surreal when we found out. It was very overwhelming trying to figure everything out and it’s hard not to see him coming home. We are working very hard to bring him back.”

Paul’s family is heartbroken and focused on bringing him to home, so they have set up a GoFundMe page to help do that and help with funeral expenses.
