AMLO describes the march by the INE as a “political striptease of conservatism” and exhibits his opponents

One day after the march called “March for Democracy” in defense of the National Electoral Institute, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, minimized the mobilization by considering it a “political striptease of conservatism.”

“I think yesterday’s march was very important, it was like a kind of public political striptease of the conservatism field in Mexico and this is very good, but very good, because if this does not emerge, it remains buried, and it does a lot of damage to have a better, fairer, more egalitarian, more fraternal society”, he commented.

From the National Palace, the Mexican president disqualified those attending the the march and exhibited some photographs showing former President Vicente Fox; the teacher Elba Esther Gordillo; businessman Claudio X González, organizer of the march; Senator Claudia Ruiz Massieu, who is the niece of former President Carlos Salinas de Gortari; Senator Margarita Zavala, wife of former President Felipe Calderón, among other attendees.

“ There are still risks of electoral fraud, so the INE was an excuse , a flag, but basically those who demonstrated yesterday did so against the transformation that is taking place in the country. They did it in favor of the privileges that they had before the government that I represent”, he said.

“ They did it in favor of corruption, they they did in favor of racism, in favor of classicism, of discrimination, that is the background because there is no way that Madrazo (Roberto Madrazo) and Elba Esther and Fox are Democrats. The same (José) Woldemberg who validated electoral fraud when he was at the INE, I go more to the teacher Elba Esther because she does not take purity baths, she is more sincere than (José) Woldenberg because what bothers the most is hypocrisy, simulation,” he said.

In the Treasury room of the National Palace, López Obrador said he was very pleased that not so many people came which would not have filled the Zócalo of Mexico City.

“The success of yesterday’s mobilization is that most people did not participate, they could not… I was very pleased that despite the campaign not many people participated… That’s why they didn’t come to the Zócalo, they wouldn’t have filled even half of it… They went 14 or 60 thousand… The Zócalo is reached with 125 thousand“, he celebrated.

“Yesterday’s march there went with that of Frena (National Anti-AMLO Front)… How does it affect democracy? that the people choose? That there is no waste in the management of the INE budget. How are (José) Woldenberg, Aguilar Camín, (Enrique) Krauze going to be the same as three masons, three indigenous people? The people were already fed up with them… Or do you think that the man who is in the INE (Lorenzo Córdova) voted for me?”, he questioned.

The Mexican president took the opportunity to show a video showing a woman who attended the INE march and insulted him by calling him an ‘Indian from Macuspana paw rajada’, this as a sign of the racism that still prevails in Mexico.

It is not only the “defense” of the INE but of the status quo. Rancid conservatism claiming its rights and privileges against the advance of the “Indians.” pic.twitter.com/HndJV6Ppsm— Jorge Armando Rocha (@rochaperiodista) November , 2022

“We have dragged racism from centuries. This pata rajada Indian is from the Colony (Epoch of the Colony). I think there is less polarization in Mexico than in other countries, with all due respect, there is more polarization in the United States than in Mexico,” López Obrador responded to the woman’s insults.
