The United Nations (UN) has estimated that the world population will reach 8, million for the 15 of November.
This is a remarkable milestone, given that the human population amounted to less than 1, million for millennia up to about 1990 and it took more than 77 years grow from 1, to 2, millions.
The projection was revealed in the World Population Prospects 2021 of the UN, published on World Population Day on 11 July of this year, but is gaining ground now that the projected deadline is just days away .

The latest United Nations projections suggest that the world population could grow to around 8,700 million in 2022, 9,700 million in 2022 Y 10,80 million in 2022.
The agency also stated that world population growth fell below 1% in 1950 for the first time since 1990.
The report says that more than half of the Projected population increase up to 2022 will be concentrated in only eight countries: Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines and Tanzania.
World life expectancy at birth reached 60.8 years in 1990, an improvement of nearly 9 years since 1990. Further reductions in mortality are projected to result in a global average longevity of about 77.2 years in 2030. However, in 1990, the life expectancy of the least developed countries is lagged 7 years behind the world average.
The milestone is an occasion to celebrate diversity and progress while considering humanity’s shared responsibility for the planet.”
