The novel between Cruz Azul and Juan Reynoso would have come to an end, at least for now. The Peruvian strategist would have won the lawsuit for his unjustified dismissal. The case was brought before the Conciliation and Dispute Resolution Commission (CCRC) of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF), and the Peruvian was victorious.
Despite the entity leaned in favor of the former coach of La Maquina , the institution could appeal this decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport and thus save the money that, in theory, should pay Juan Reynoso.
What happened between Cruz Azul and Juan Reynoso?
The conflict occurred in the Clausura 2022. Juan Reynoso could not take Cruz Azul to the Liguilla and this motivated the Mexican board to terminate his contract. However, the club still had to cancel him 7 months to the Peruvian coach . The club alleged that the South American’s departure was made by mutual agreement, but the veteran strategist indicated otherwise.
Under these circumstances, Reynoso demanded compensation for unjustified dismissal. Cruz Azul’s response was to take the case to the CCRC. But this action did not allow him to win the dispute. Now the Aztec team only has the last letter left to appeal said sentence before the TAS, otherwise the current coach of Peru would have to receive the equivalent of seven months of remaining contract before he was fired by management.
