A suspect allegedly armed with two knives was riddled this Sunday afternoon by Huntington Park police shots, informed the authorities.
According to the reports, at approximately 5: 24 pm, officers of the Police Department of Huntington Park responded to the block 6300 of Malabar Street after receiving a report of a man allegedly armed with a firearm, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).
Authorities said that, when officers encountered the suspect, the subject produced two knives. At some point during the confrontation, police said the suspect threw a knife at an officer and that’s when they opened fire on him.
No further details were provided of what led up to the shooting by Huntington Park police officers.
According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, one of the officers attempted to subdue the suspect with less-lethal means before that the other three agents shot him.
The suspect was transferred to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead there.
It was reported that one of the officers was slightly injured during the confrontation with the suspect.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department took over investigation of this shooting.
