Two Powerball lottery tickets sold in California came within one number of hitting the six-digit jackpot in the drawing of the Saturday, which had no winner and the purse for this Monday’s draw increased to $1, millions of dollars.
A liquor store in Pico Rivera, Los Angeles County; and a coffee shop in the town of Markleeville, in Alpine County, in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, sold prize tickets with $552,641 Dollars.
For the Powerball draw this monday, the jackpot increased to $1,000 million dollars, the fifth largest lottery in the history of the United States.
In addition to the two winning California Powerball tickets, will another five were sold out of state: two in Michigan and one each in Florida, Maryland and Texas.
The numbers that were awarded in the draw on Saturday were 19, 31, 40, 54 Y 57, and the Powerball number was 23. For this draw, the main prize was $825 million dollars.
Saturday’s draw was the number 37 since a ticket matched the six winning numbers of the jackpot.
According to the Multi-State Lottery Association, the odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball are 1 in approximately 293 million, while the overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24,87.
The Powerball game is played at 46 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands.
