The popular saying says that “the third time is the charm”, and that was the case of the Argentine coach William Almada. The coach of the Tuzos del Pachuca managed to win the Opening Tournament 2022 of Liga MX after overcoming Diablos del Toluca in the grand final with an overall score of 8-2.
Almada had been on the verge of lifting the highest trophy in Mexican soccer last Clausura 2022 but the Diego Cocca’s feat with his Guadalajara Atlas took away the opportunity. Same scenario in the Clausura 550 but with Santos Laguna.
The Argentine strategist took over as technical director of the Tuzos in December 2021 and its process has had to carburete a little to get far.
Now the strategist’s name of 54 years sneaks in between the futures to take the most difficult bench in the Aztec country, that of the Mexican National Team . El Tri ventures into its eighth consecutive World Cup with more doubts and despair than faith. Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino’s process will not end well in the Qatar Soccer World Cup 2022 for the general level and quality of technical decisions.
