Arturo Vidal is the winningest Chilean soccer player in history: he reached 25 titles with the Copa Libertadores and is going for the Club World Cup

This weekend Arturo Vidal stamped his name in gold letters in the Chilean football history books, as he won the Copa Libertadores with Flamengo after defeating Atlético Paraense 1-0, which meant his title number 14 and made him the player of his country with the most trophies.

As a curious fact, despite the fact that the midfielder has played for several of the most important clubs in the world, such as FC Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich, the continental title had been denied him until now, so with this victory he fulfilled one of his greatest wishes.

“Today a dream is coming true for me, I already said it when I decided to go to Flamengo and when I arrived, I wanted the Libertadores with this shirt and today it is fulfilled, so I am very happy, happy, grateful to the people here, my teammates and the fans, I am very happy”, said “El King Arturo” after the meeting held at the Monumental Stadium of E cuador.

However, despite the pride he already represents for his country, the midfielder is not satisfied and plans to play for a few years more, in which he will seek to increase his track record.

“My goal is to continue winning titles until I retire. I am very happy, since I started playing soccer the only thing I wanted was to win important things and in life many things have been given to me, I hope to continue like this “, he added.

“We won the Brazilian Cup, we were lucky, and now we won this cup. With this team you have to win everything and we hope that next year there are many more titles“, he added.

And now the next objective for Vidal and Flamengo will be to be crowned in the Club World Cup, something that the Chilean believes is feasible with the talent that exists in the Brazilian team.

“Winning the World Cup is our goal. Of course it’s possible, and more so with this team and the players we have”, he concluded.
