Julio César Chávez continues to pay for his harsh criticism of Andy Ruiz. This time it was the trainer of the “Destroyer”, Alfredo Osuna, who criticized the former Aztec boxer for not attacking Saúl Álvarez with the same rudeness. The “Great Mexican Champion” questioned the Ruiz’s conservative attitude in his fight against Luis Ortiz.

“All the networks in the world spoke that it was Andy’s smartest fight. Just like them (Julio César Chávez and Eduardo Lamazón), they shot him, well, I don’t care. But I saw many who came over him on his social networks (…) He only watches the Canelo fight, they didn’t say anything there, but I’m going to reserve some of my comments . It seems that there are commitments in some things, very strong commitments”, declared Osuna in an interview on the Los Talegones podcast.

Under these circumstances, Andy Ruiz’s trainer questioned the strong criticism towards his pupil, unlike Saúl Álvarez’s fight against Gennady Golovkin, a fight that was highly criticized by a large part of boxing fans.

What did Andy Ruiz say?

“Throw punches, asshole” were the plants of Julio César Chávez directed at Andy Ruiz in full broadcast of the fight. Faced with the criticism of the former Mexican boxer, the “Destroyer” did not hold back and responded publicly.

“ I find it incredible that they don’t understand how difficult it is to face such a dangerous and technical southpaw with a great punch. Don’t forget that heavyweight punches are something else. I would expect support from Julio, not insults. I am the only heavyweight world champion from Mexico ”, Ruiz said in an interview for El Universal.
