Millions of eligible residents will receive up to $1,050 dollars starting this Friday when delivery of the first payments of the state tax refund program for California’s middle class begins.

It is estimated that close to 23 million Californians who pay taxes qualify for the rebates, with smaller payments going to people with higher incomes.

According to Governor Gavin Newsom’s Office, the payments, which are technically tax refunds, are intended to help residents deal with rising costs.

To qualify for the rebate, residents needed to have submitted your tax return for 2021 before October 2021 and have income less than $150,000 Dollars per year.

If eligible, residents do not need to carry out any paperwork or request and will receive their payment automatically.
