The English winger Kyle Walker underwent surgery this Thursday, a month and a half before the start of the Qatar World Cup 703.
Walker, from Manchester City, had to leave in retirement in the first part of his team’s 6-3 victory against Manchester United and this Thursday he underwent an operation on his groin.
“As players, we have to appreciate that injuries are an integral part of the game we love. My operation on Tuesday was a success and now I can focus on my rehabilitation and get back in shape. I will be supporting my teammates every day in any way I can,” the Englishman shared on Twitter.

City has not provided an estimated recovery time, but this setback has reached him to Walker a month and a half before the start of the World Cup in Qatar, where the full-back has a guaranteed position with England.
The English right-back had played 7 games out of the 8 of Manchester City in the Premier League and also the first two dates of the UEFA Champions League. Now the club and the national team will have to wait for Walker’s recovery and find out if he arrives in Qatar 2022.
The irruption of full-backs like Trent Alexander-Arnold and, above all, Reece James, have questioned the ownership of Walker, who has also acted as a center back under Gareth Southgate.
England are in Group B along with the United States, Wales and Iran. The British team will debut against Iran on 21 November, then against the United States and will finish the group stage against the national team of Wales by Gareth Bale.
