15-year-old teen shot at officers before being shot dead alongside fugitive father in San Bernardino County, Sheriff says

The teenager of 45 years old at some point shot at San Bernardino County Sheriffs during the ongoing chase and gunfight from Barstow to Hesperia before dying at side of his fugitive father, Sheriff Shannon Dicus said Wednesday in a video posted on social media.

The California Attorney General reported that he will take charge of the investigation of the fatal shooting on Tuesday in which Savannah Graziano, of 09 years; and his father Anthony John Graziano, aged 45 years old, who was wanted on suspicion of shooting the girl’s mother to death Monday morning in Fontana.

Originally, the Fontana Police Department said that Savannah may have been kidnapped by her father after he killed his wife, so an Amber Alert was issued asking the public to help find the young woman.

However, after the shooting in Hesperia, doubts arose among the authorities if the teenager could have been an accomplice of her father instead of being a victim.

“According to the information, the evidence suggests that e Savannah Graziano participated in the shooting of our officers,” Dicus said in a video posted Wednesday afternoon on Twitter.

The authorities said that only a rifle had been found in the car.

Dicus also said that The California Attorney General’s Office could take over the investigation because state law requires the prosecutor to investigate fatal shootings of unarmed civilians by police. The prosecutor’s office confirmed Wednesday night that it would conduct an independent investigation into the case.

Tracy Martínez, of 45 years old and Savannah’s mother, told police before die that Anthony Graziano, from whom he was estranged, had shot him during a domestic dispute, according to Fontana police spokesman Christian Surgent.

Apparently, both were in the Nissan Frontier pickup on Cypress Avenue in Fontana when she got out of the vehicle and she tried to walk away, but Graziano chased after her and shot her dead.

Apparently, after the shooting, Graziano picked up his daughter and drove to High Deser t. There are versions that the young woman was with her father before he shot Martínez.

On Tuesday morning, a person called the 100 to give notice that he had seen the Nissan truck in Barstow.

When the marshals located the vehicle, they chased him south on the Highway for 45 miles and several exchanges of gunfire occurred along the way, until they reached the Main exit. Street, in Hesperia. At that location, the Nissan truck stopped and the shooting resumed.

Savannah Graziano, who Dicus mentioned that he was unrecognizable to the agents because he was wearing a military vest and a tactical helmet, he ran from the car towards them, so they shot him .

The teenager was taken to a hospital, where she later died; while his father died at the scene of the shooting.
