Actress Chloë Grace Moretz revealed that several years ago she suffered from anxiety and body dysmorphia
, after a meme made fun of her body went viral, adapting the image to that of a character from the cartoon series “Family guy”.
In an interview that Moretz -of 25 years- offered to the magazine Hunger revealed that the meme made her feel very insecure about her body, to such an extent that when she went to some event and they photographed her, she suffered from hyperventilation and her heart began to beat very fast: “I remember thinking ‘My body is being used as a joke and it’s something I don’t I can change about how I am, and it’s posted all over Instagram. Until this day when I see it, it is something difficult for me to overcome’”.
However, the coronavirus pandemic made Chloë hide her face under a mask, which made her gradually feel more sure of herself. She has not stopped working, and is currently promoting the series “The peripheral”, which will premiere on 21 October on Amazon Prime Video . “To say that these last two years have been transformational is an understatement, to say the least. I am a very different girl than I was. Now I feel like a woman”, she concluded.
