Brian Rodríguez is the new signing of Club América and the 22 year old will seek to be one of the young promises of the azulcrema team.
Rodríguez was born on May 20 in Tranqueras, Uruguay, in a city that is close to the border with Brazil. In 2018 he debuted as a professional with one of the most historic clubs in the country: El Peñarol . The Uruguayan soccer player did it as a right winger and in his first season he scored a goal in six games.
During his second season with the Aurinegros, Rodríguez was part of the initial 10 in 11 occasions with 2 goalss, and was also named the Best Junior of the Opening Tournament of Uruguay.
At 19 years old, he headed to LAFC of Major League Soccer (MLS) being the most expensive sale of the club up to that moment with 10.3 million dollars. Currently, Rodríguez is the third biggest sale of the Uruguayan club behind Agustín Álvarez ($10.3 million dollars to Sassuolo) and Darwin Núñez, current Liverpool player ($15.65 million dollars to Almería.).
With the team from the city of Los Angeles he played 65 games, scored 9 goals and gave 14 assists. In 2021 he went to Almería in the second division of Spain, but he was not so successful there and was only in 16 matches without goals or assists.
The new signing of America in Liga MX can play as a right winger or a winger left and fight for position with Jonathan Rodríguez, as well as on the other end with Alejandro Zendejas and Jürgen Damm, or with Henry Martín, Federico Viñas and Roger Martínez.
