Goalkeeping coach expelled for a year for hitting a referee in the middle of a match in the Ecuadorian League [Video]

The Disciplinary Commission of the Ecuadorian Pro League punished goalkeeping coach Héctor Chiriboga with a one-year suspension this Tuesday and assistant coach Boris Fiallos with 9 months, both from club Macará, for attacking the referee Alex Cajas in the last match that the club played against Aucas.

The attack occurred during the match that Macará and Aucas tied 1-1 last Saturday for the seventh date of the second phase, which generated a determined reaction from the referees who refused to whistle due to lack of guarantees three games were missing to complete the day on Sunday.

Chiriboga was suspended for one year and three more dates for “insulting, pushing, threatening and hitting the referee” Alex Cajas and must pay a fine of 4.000 dollars, could be read in the minutes of sanctions.

For For his part, Boris Fiallos, assistant to the Uruguayan-Ecuadorian coach Marcelo Fleitas, received 9 months and three more game dates of suspension and a fine of $2,000 dollars for “insulting and hitting referee Cajas”, was added to the minutes.

Macará’s substitute goalkeeper, Carlos Espinoza, was also suspended for two dates for insulting the referee, while the Macará club was fined $ 400 dollars for allowing unauthorized persons to enter the field of play, and another penalty of $2, 000 dollars because one of its officials hit an Aucas fan.

From Aucas, defender Richard Mina was suspended for two games for insulting the referee; with one the Argentine attacker Víctor Figueroa, due to a double warning; and with three dates the Venezuelan coach César Farías and for 45 days the field delegate Wellington Morales, both for insulting the referee.

In the coming days, the FEF, the Pro League and the clubs will meet to toughen the punishments (suspensions and fines) for the aggressors in Ecuadorian soccer, since the sanctions applied have been considered meager by certain local soccer managers, who consider the facts as serious.
