FIFA published this Thursday an update of its world ranking of men’s soccer teams, in which there are hardly any changes compared to the previous update in June, after a summer starring women’s football at the international level, in which 58 matches of men’s teams have also been played, especially in Africa and Asia.
Within the top 20 there has been no change: Mexico remains in the position 12 and Brazil continues to lead the table, with Belgium, Argentina, France and England behind, in that order, and Spain, Italy (which will not play in the World Cup), the Netherlands, Portugal and Denmark complete the top ten positions.
In Concacaf, El Tri continues being the leader, since its 1,635 points place it above the United States, which stalks it oops closely with 1,635 points; Below are Costa Rica, Canada and Panama, with 1,500, 1,473 and 1389 points, respectively.
These same Concacaf teams, in the world ranking are located in the place 14 (United States States), 34 (Costa Rica), 43 (Canada) and 61 (Panama).
FIFA will publish a new ranking update on October 6, once the September matches have been held, in which Spain will finish the group stage of the UEFA Nations League against Switzerland, at home, and Portugal, away, looking to retain the lead of their group.
