The Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP) warned about the depth of the Rio Grande, after the death of various immigrants, including a five-year-old girl.
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Sector recovered the bodies of three deceased migrants in a span of four hours, on 12 August, the agency reported.
One of the men was floating in the south from the Eagle Pass port of entry at approximately 8: 54 am
“Two hours later, Boat Patrol agents discovered another deceased man floating in the Rio Grande near the same area,” confirmed CBP. “At 12: 20 hours, agents encountered a third deceased male in the same area. The bodies were handed over to the local authorities”.
So far this fiscal year, from October 1 to 31 July, agents in the Del Rio Sector have encountered more than 200 dead migrants.
Otherwise, from 19 August in the area of Laredo, Texas, near the Bridge of the Americas, a man who was trying to cross the river was trapped close to one of the pillars of the bridge.
The individual struggled to stay afloat in the strong currents, the CBP explained in a statement.
The agents responded to the emergency in a boat and were able to rescue the man, a native of Venezuela.
With the same fate, a five-year-old girl did not run who on Monday tried to swim across the river with her mother in the area of El Pa So, Texas.
The authorities of Ciudad Juárez (Mexico) recovered the body of the little girl. The mother was rescued alive, according to the specialized Border Report.

Last Wednesday agents of the Border Patrol recovered the bodies of three deceased migrants in a period of four hours in the Del Río sector , Texas.
The first discovery was made around 9 am south of the Eagle Pass port of entry. Two hours later, agents on a Border Patrol vessel discovered the body of another man in the same area.
An hour and a half later later in the same area the body of a third man was found.
The CBP has repeatedly warned migrants about the risks of crossing the big River.
