An armed man crashes his vehicle into a barricade near the Capitol and then commits suicide

Identified as Richard Aaron York, of 40 years ago, a man died after crashing his car into a barricade in Washington DC and then shoot himself in the head before being arrested.

According to the authorities, in the investigation, they found na Delaware driver’s license and also believed to have recently lived in Pennsylvania.

Richard Aaron York drove his car into a barricade of vehicles on East Capitol Street and Second Street around 4 a.m., the spokesperson in a press release. When he got out of the car, it was engulfed in flames.

Then he began to shoot into the air and before the detonations, the authorities responded with immediately, but as the Capitol Police approached, he shot himself.

“No one else was injured,” said Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger, “At this time, it does not appear that the man was pointing at any member of Congress, who is in recess, nor that the officers have fired their weapons.”

The accident occurred at approximately 300 feet of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Capitol Police investigators are looking into the man’s background and the DC Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the death, according to authorities.

Police around the Capitol have been on high alert in light of recent threats made to other agencies, said Manger.

The incident was It comes just days after police shot and killed a man suspected of attempting an attack on the FBI office in Cincinnati, though Manger said there was no word yet on the suspect’s motivation in the incident.
